Very Proud of the work students did on the MOCK STAAR. We begin reviewing Monday! Test is May 9th. Students need, charged iPad, pencil, journal, and folder daily. Warm ups and daily quiz will be on the iPad but wifi is not needed at home if a student needs to finish these. Please ask to see the daily quiz and assure they have completed it and shown work.

Metric and Customary Conversions

Wednesday:  We reviewed how to convert metric units with the K H D M d c m
                                                                                                                    L
                                                                                                                    G
and using the conversion math chart. We also used the chart to convert customary units in class.
Students have Pizzaz math papers, Ice Skater and Cinnamon Toast, they were given in class with a partner to finish over these two topics. Students also had a Daily Math 2a review page as a warm up that will be graded tomorrow. Anything not finished in class is to be finished for homework. Thanks!

Report Cards should be handed out Friday. I have already started taking grades for the 5th 6 weeks. I will try to enter those on Friday after the report cards have been printed.

Good Morning!

Friday students worked in partners on types of graphs we have studied and answered questions and interpreted the data.

Monday, we used a metric recipe to make ice cream outside. Students are not familiar with measuring in the metric system so it was a great way to start our week of measurement conversions.

Tuesday, watch Brain Pop about converting Metric Units. SP 8-6 I did the odd numbers with them and they are doing the even numbers with a partner. Their toolkit shows them the mnemonic sentence and I showed them another way on the odd numbered problems. those that finish will also do an exercise on IXL.
Class/homework: Finish SP 8-9 and Daily Math Review (grade) 2 #1-12

Wednesday
Students checked the warm up 54 from class yesterday/homework
We reviewed their partner work over stem and leaf plots and did 5 more problems with a partner.
Students have a Daily Math 1A review (12 problems) this will be a grade. If they did not finish in class it is homework.

Grades are in other than a few late assignments/corrections. I will be adding IXL grades from tutorials by Friday. Thanks!

TUESDAY
We reviewed the Dot Plot assignment/partners from Monday. We discussed what the data means. Today students will review Stem and Leaf Plots. They have a page that says Reteach that has the examples and  notes needed. The back side of this I worked 1,3,and discussed 5 with them. Then students worked in partners to do 2,4, and finish 5.
The warm up 53 was reviewed in class and 54 is to do on their own.
